Former French footballer Eric Cantona had some very touching words for his friend, Didier Roustan.

Didier Roustan, one of the greatest sports journalists France has ever known, passed away last night. A loss that has affected many people, especially those who were lucky enough to know him. This is the case, in particular, of Eric Cantona.

Cantona does not forget Roustan

The former French footballer met Roustan in the mid-90s. First by accompanying him in the commentary of the 94 World Cup then by working alongside him for the creation of the players’ union.

“Canto” reacted to the disappearance of his friend. On his Instagram account, he paid him a superb tribute:
“Great sadness to learn of the death of Didier Roustan. He was for me the greatest sports journalist. Intelligent, lively with a great sense of image. We did so many things together including the creation of the first players’ union with Maradona. I will miss him. Rest in peace my friend.”
