Rodri will head to Qatar. But, and Manchester City fans can rest assured, it is not the Spanish international midfielder but his namesake from Betis de Sevilla.
Rodri joined Qatar for a fee of 8 million euros plus bonuses. That is four times more than what he was earning in Andalusia. The striker has signed until 2027.
Rodri will quadruple his salary
He leaves Betis after having played 127 official matches with the first team, in which he scored eight goals and provided 15 assists. He notably won the Copa del Rey, won by Manuel Pellegrini’s men in the 2021-22 season at the Estadio de La Cartuja.
Rodri almost joined Real Mallorca a week ago, but the offer of one million euros was rejected by Betis.
