For several years now, Didier Deschamps has been singled out with the French team. Despite winning the 2018 World Cup and author of several epics in major competitions, the French coach is not unanimous for a game deemed too poor given the quality of the squad at his disposal. This Monday, the French team nevertheless won against Belgium in Lyon. Booed, the French team is going through a period where some French supporters have a clear dislike for it.
Asked by TF1 After the match, Didier Deschamps sent a dig at his detractors regarding the criticism of his team and him: “I didn’t hear the whistles. But you know, the criticism, I’m not going to say that I was born with it, but it’s part of the game, it’s my responsibility, I’m immersed in everything that’s happening. It doesn’t have an influence on me, but on the players, the environment… When we come, we support the French team, so the whistles… That people are unhappy, disappointed, that they show it, why not, but there when the players are on the field… I don’t think it’s for the good of the French team.”
