Algeria followed up this Tuesday with a new success in the CAN qualifiers at the expense of Liberia.

Like five days ago against Equatorial Guinea, Algeria had no difficulty in holding its own against Liberia. In Monrovia, and despite playing on a synthetic pitch, the Greens beat their opponents 3-0.

Gouiri has scored again

The debates were sealed in the first period with two goals from the Fennecs. Despite the combined absences of Mahrez, Aouar, Ait-Nouri, Bennacer and Amoura, the visitors imposed their law from the start.

In these circumstances, it did not take too long to see them take the advantage. From the 17e minute, Amine Gouiri gave them the lead. Already a scorer in Oran, the Rennais found the net by converting a service from new international Mohamed Farsi from close range.

A boulevard for Algeria

The second goal was scored by Adem Zorgane. The Charleroi midfielder scored his firster goal in selection from a long shot in the 25th minutee minute. Finally, the Greens’ success was completed by Baghdad Bounedjah. Ten minutes from the end, the center forward hit the target by taking a ball pushed back by the opposing goalkeeper following a powerful shot from Youcef Atal.

With this comfortable success, Algeria takes the lead in its group. With 6 points to its name, it already has a four-point lead over its closest rival, Togo. Qualification for the 2025 CAN is already within reach of Mandi and his teammates.
