After having praised him so much, Bixente Lizarazu seems to have lost all respect for Kylian Mbappé. The former French international is not very fond of the communication of the captain of the Blues.
Before the match against Italy, Mbappe had declared that he did not care what people thought about it. That it was “all the same” to him whether he got a good or bad reception from his former Parc fans.
“Mbappé must become just a footballer again”
Liza expressed her annoyance on Sunday morning during the Téléfoot show. Then, he did it again the next day in his column for the daily newspaper L’Equipe. “His press conference surprised and embarrassed me. The words used were inappropriate, not those of a leader and even less those of a captain. You cannot be insensitive to the feelings of the supporters of the French team.”
Mbappé has seen his popularity drop among the French.
The 98 world champion added that Mbappé would benefit from refocusing on the pitch:
“Maybe he is less serene than usual, more tense because he is slow to find the best version of himself. In a way, I think that for that, he needs to come back just as a footballer.”
Lizarazu is not the only one
Lizarazu was not the only one to criticize Mbappé for this controversial exit. Christophe Jallet, his former teammate in the national team, also pointed the finger at him. During an intervention on Canal+, he judged that he “lacked humanity.”
