Brazil coach Dorival Junior has backed Endrick to perform for his country, even though he has not had much game time for Real Madrid so far this season.

Endrick has only played nine minutes in total for Real Madrid this season, although he did score his first goal for Los Blancos in a brief four-minute cameo in the recent 3-0 win over Real Valladolid. Despite his lack of playing time on the pitch, Brazil coach Dorival Junior had no problem recalling the 18-year-old to international duty and also offered him some words of encouragement.

Speaking to the media ahead of Brazil’s match against Ecuador, Dorival Junior said: “Endrick, although he is not a starter in one of the best teams in world football, has the qualities to be in the team and play 90 minutes. He has enormous potential and a lot is expected of him. We must remain calm. Players come from their clubs and arrive at the national team with a great responsibility due to the current situation in the rankings.”

The young Brazilian may not be happy spending most days on the bench, but his time will come. At 18, he is well placed to be in the same XI as the likes of Kylian Mbappé, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo. He has already proven himself by coming onto the pitch from the bench and if he continues to shine for his country, Carlo Ancelotti will have no choice but to force him into the team.

Endrick is expected to line up alongside Real Madrid teammates Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo in the World Cup qualifier against Ecuador. After that game, the Seleçao will travel to Paraguay for their next match on September 11.
