Griezmann abandoned by his teammates

After a very disappointing France-Italy (1-3), Antoine Griezmann was the only player from Les Bleus to tour the Parc des Princes to thank the French public.

This is the other false note of the evening. After the defeat of the French team against Italy in the Nations League (1-3), most of the Blues preferred to go to the locker room fairly quickly, greeting only the kop of supporters of the Tricolores, the Irresistible French.

Only one player saw fit to take a little tour of the stadium to thank the Parc des Princes for its support, despite the very poor performance of Didier Deschamps’ men. It was Antoine Griezmann, abandoned by his teammates, but who took the time to greet the spectators present in the other stands.

Another difficult match for Griezmann

Finally starting, thanks to the withdrawal of Randal Kolo Muani, the Atlético de Madrid player delivered a fairly average performance, at best, in line with his very disappointing Euro 2024. Lined up as a playmaker, the Mâconnais stood out with a nice one-touch pass, poorly exploited by Ousmane Dembélé (63rd), then with a nice shot slightly off target (77th). For the rest, in a still failing collective, the depositary of the tricolor game struggled to show himself.

After the match, Griezmann nevertheless assumed his responsibilities by appearing on TF1 to analyse the performance of the Blues. “They were better. We weren’t good in pressing I think nor defensively. We have to work hard and review that tactically, reacted the French vice-captain, keeping a smile. It’s football, sometimes you lose, sometimes you win, you have to keep this desire to work, that’s the only good thing to continue.”
See you Monday evening in Lyon against Belgium.
