Manchester United made enquiries about Michael Olise this summer, but were unable to sign him.
Indeed, the Red Devils did try to sign the former Crystal Palace winger, but only after Bayern Munich had pulled ahead in the race. According to The Mail, Olise had already given his word to the Bavarians and was not going to change his mind. United were even considering calling on Sir Alex Ferguson to try to persuade the Olympic runner-up to join their ranks.

Olise believes that Bayern is the ideal place for him to continue his progression. He already has the trust of Vincent Kompany and everything is in place for him to have a great career at the Allianz Arena. His transfer to Germany has notably allowed him to join the France A team. This Friday, he should even have his first start with Deschamps’ gang.
It is not yet known whether he will ever return to the Premier League, but United are said to be continuing to monitor his progress. Mancunian officials have not given up on the idea of signing him in the future.
