Brice Daumin, the boss of DAZN France, answered many questions concerning his platform.

DAZN France, the new broadcaster of the French championship, is coming to the end of its first months of work in France. It’s time to take stock. From the outside, it seems mixed, but its managers are very satisfied with it.

DAZN keeps its numbers secret

Brice Daumin, their CEO, spoke in an interview with Le Parisien. He then took the opportunity to congratulate himself on what his group has already produced.
“We are really happy with what we have achieved in such a short time. Such a quick and bug-free implementation and execution, no one has done it before… Bravo DAZN!”
he let go.

Although he is quick to pat himself on the back, the representative of the British firm refused to disclose the number of subscribers that have been registered. That’s an excellent question, he simply retorted with a smile.
We signed a five-year deal: it’s a marathon. We are in a ramp-up phase. It’s too early to communicate anything in terms of results. We will definitely share the results, but not now.”

“No more expensive than before”

French football fans have protested the price set by the platform. Daumin spoke out about it and said there was nothing to be outraged about. “If we look at the evolution of access to Ligue 1, the price has only gone down. DAZN, with an offer at 29.99 euros per month, even if we add BeIN Sports at 15 euros per month, it is not more expensive than what existed before. Everyone talks about the price by saying that it is more expensive. But more expensive compared to what?”

If DAZN does not lower its costs, IPTV and illegal retransmission are likely to continue. For Daumin, this is a real scourge that must be put to an end as soon as possible. “These are criminal, mafia, pedocriminal organizations, we have to keep that in mind. But today, there is a trivialization of that,” he lamented.
