It’s done. Jordan Veretout will leave Marseille to sign with OL. The two clubs have agreed on a transfer and the French international will be transferred to the Gones as a “joker”.
Veretout can breathe!
A two-year contract awaits Veretout at Groupama Stadium, as revealed by Foot Mercato. He will also receive a salary of €1.8 million per year at the Rhone club.
Everyone wins in the end. OM gets rid of an unwanted player, its second of the day after Azzedine Ounahi. OL welcomes a reinforcement in a sector where it was weakened. And the player joins a team where he is sure to be able to play football again and count on the confidence of a coach.
The return to the Vélodrome could be tough
Veretout had been taken to task by OM supporters during the last days of the transfer window. The latter reproached him in particular for having prevented the transfer of Ismael Bennacer. The OM management had to speak out and ask that the player be respected and that there be no threats against him.
Veretout’s next return to the Vélodrome in the Lyon jersey is likely to be very hot. Mathieu Valbuena experienced the same ordeal about ten days ago, and he had not been transferred directly from one Olympique to another.
