His career took another turn this summer. Very convincing in the midfield of the Blues during the last Olympics, Manu Koné stood out in the eyes of Didier Deschamps, the French coach. Called up for the first time for the September training camp, the player trained at TFC will therefore play for the French team for the first time in its history this week. This summer exposure also allowed the 23-year-old midfielder to leave Borussia Mönchengladbach this summer. Tracked in Italy, Koné actually joined AS Roma this summer.

Present at a press conference this Tuesday, the midfielder looked back on this eventful summer: “It was a very quick turning point. Everything happened quickly and I know it’s a turning point in my career. I’m in the French team, I was transferred to Roma, it’s up to me to prove that I can stay. It’s a great pride to be called up to the senior team, it’s a dream I had in the short term. The transfer to Roma allows me to have more ambitions. I spoke with the coach, the project convinced me. I can’t wait to play for Roma.»
