A tough blow for the French team and also for Real Madrid. Midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni has injured his left foot again and will have to be stopped for a defined period.
The former Bordeaux player was examined on Monday after his arrival at Clairefontaine. However, he had participated in the entirety of Real’s match against Betis the day before (2-0). The foot problem was confirmed and his absence for the Blues’ matches in the Nations League was confirmed. This is the third defection recorded by the French selection after those of Wesley Fofana and Ferland Mendy. Kylian Mbappé is also the only French player from Real to be present at this gathering now, since Eduardo Camavinga was also unavailable.
Tchouaméni replaced by Guendouzi
Tchouaméni had already been injured in the same place at the end of last season. This deprived him of the Champions League final. However, he returned in time to participate in the Euro with the French team.
Within the group, Tchouaméni will be replaced by Mattéo Guendouzi. The Lazio player had not been called up since last March.
