Marseille: When Greenwood does a Balotelli…

Mason Greenwood has equalled Mario Balotelli’s historic feat after the former Manchester United striker scored twice in a minute for Marseille.

Greenwood once again dominated the spotlight, scoring twice against Toulouse in just 17 minutes. He has been in sensational form since moving to France and boasts five goals in his first three Ligue 1 games.

Greenwood’s goalscoring streak puts him on the same pedestal as Balotelli, who had as many goals to his name after three games during his Ligue 1 stint with Nice in 2016. It is an incredibly rare feat as Greenwood and Balotelli are the only two players to have reached that milestone in the last 50 seasons in the French top flight.

A very popular Greenwood

Greenwood’s No.10 shirt is the best-selling jersey of any Marseille player. It would come as no surprise if sales figures see another boost after another brilliant performance for his new team.

Greenwood will be keen to continue his form even after the international break when he returns to action against Nice on September 14.
