Real Madrid will have a more hectic end to the transfer window than expected

Endrick and Kylian Mbappé. Simple and effective. Two major reinforcements for Madrid’s attacking sector, and who should probably be the only two arrivals in this summer market. Indeed, Real Madrid gave the impression of wanting to recruit a central defender to cover the departure of Nacho – Leny Yoro and Aymeric Laporte are some of the leads that have been explored – as well as a left-back, with Alphonso Davies as the main candidate. Carlo Ancelotti has however definitively closed the door to other arrivals.

But was the Italian bluffing? Apparently not. Unless there is a turnaround, an unexpected departure of a key player or a long-term injury between now and the end of the contract, Real Madrid will not bring in any new players. The staff and management believe that the central defender position is covered with Militao, Rüdiger and Alaba, with Tchouameni who can also play in this position and the youngsters like Jacobo Ramon or Joan Martinez when he returns from injury. For the left side of the defense, Ferland Mendy and Fran Garcia are the right fit in the eyes of the decision-makers.

Several checks will fall

On the other hand, there could be departures of less important players. Dani Ceballos is thus coveted by AS Monaco and Betis. Even if the midfielder is in Ancelotti’s plans, he risks starting a new season with little playing time, and these two clubs could guarantee him some. Reiner, who has been on loan lately, should be sold. Nico Paz has already left 5 million in the club’s coffers by leaving for Como, and other young players could do the same, like the striker Alvaro Rodriguez, coveted by several La Liga clubs. Real Madrid also want to recover 5 million euros and, as is usual, a significant percentage on resale.

Percentages that will also allow Real Madrid to bring in cash by the end of the transfer window. Indeed, Sergio Arribas, sold a year ago to Almeria, should leave the Andalusian club that was relegated and has a good rating in La Liga. The Madrilenians should therefore recover a few million euros. Same scenario with Miguel Gutiérrez, the left-back of Girona, coveted by several Premier League clubs and who could be the subject of a big sale and with part of the sum that would therefore end up in Real’s coffers. Cash that will be very useful during the next transfer windows…
