PSG, the big warning

After two very successful first matches, Paris Saint-Germain must avoid any triumphalism according to Daniel Riolo, who thinks that “not all the problems are resolved” at the club.

And here we go again! By winning at Le Havre (1-4) before outclassing Montpellier (6-0), Paris Saint-Germain has sown great promise at the start of the season, notably thanks to the form of Bradley Barcola and the talent of new recruit Joao Neves. But for all that, it is much too early to think that this year will be “the right one” for PSG, believes Daniel Riolo.

“It is the only club that is capable in the summer, let’s say until mid-September, of triggering waves of enthusiasm and madness as strong after having finished a mixed season and always with the same disappointment in the Champions League but with the idea that we can do better,” the RMC consultant got annoyed on Monday evening. “There were only two games but everything was erased and forgotten. But that doesn’t mean that the shortcomings subsequently displayed by PSG in the Champions League have been filled.

“Don’t start saying the same thing and getting carried away, it’s not now that it’s really going to count for PSG. All the problems aren’t going to be solved because Mbappé left.”warns Daniel Riolo.

However, we should not be picky, and the results remain largely positive, even if they are only provisional.
“I really like what I saw in the two PSG matches, I really like the team and the playing ideas, Riolo acknowledged. Barcola has not yet replaced Mbappé but on what he has done since the start of the season, he himself says that he has grown since the Euro. The players look good, I think Vitinha will become a leader. There are a lot of positive things. To be confirmed, therefore…
