Christophe Dugarry made a remarkable return to French TV by forming the explosive commentary duo of M6, with Xavier Domergue, during Euro 2024 in Germany. The 98 world champion turned TV and radio consultant officiated in particular during three matches of Didier Deschamps’ French team, including the round of 16 against Belgium (1-0) then the quarter against Portugal (0-0, 5 tab to 3), before concluding with the final of the competition between Spain and England (2-1), on July 14 in Berlin.
“Duga” made his comeback on Monday. Not on M6 obviously, but on RMC, where he is back as a regular (but not daily) consultant for the show. Rothen ignites. Jérôme Rothen debated with Christophe Dugarry and Eric Di Meco the day after the second day of Ligue 1 and “Duga” had the opportunity to praise Roberto De Zerbi’s OM. He finds that “the journey already taken is quite impressive, quite exceptional” and has “little favorite” for Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, who makes “Kondogbia much better”. Only concern: “that Elie Wahi does not have the shoulders” to be the designated scorer for the Phocéens.
No French team for Dugarry
Dugarry is already resting since, in the casting of this Tuesday 6pm, Jérôme Rothen will find Jean-Louis Tourre, the number 1 presenter of the program, as well as Jean-Michel Larqué and Pascal Olmeta. “Duga” will not have the opportunity to hit out at his former captain “DD”, while one of the themes of the day is entitled “Didier Deschamps accused of clinging to the French team”.
It should be noted that Christophe Dugarry will not be returning to service on M6 anytime soon. TF1 has in fact recovered all of the French team’s matches outside of major competitions and the 2024-2025 Nations League matches of the Blues will all be broadcast on the front page, starting with France-Italy and France-Belgium, on September 6 and 9. We do not yet know if “Duga” is definitively Domergue’s partner for the matches broadcast by M6, such as the next Champions League final.
