85,000 Real Madrid fans gathered on Sunday afternoon to watch the debut of their favourite club’s star recruit at home. On Madrid soil and against a promoted team, the conditions were ideal for Kylian Mbappé to debut at the Bernabéu with a great performance. But the Frenchman missed out, even being eclipsed, at least in the media, by the debut of Endrick, who scored after coming on as a late substitute.
The Bondy player turned in a rather poor performance, failing to make a difference up front. He struggled to play in small spaces and also had some technical waste, in addition to missing a few interesting opportunities. Not enough to condemn him or declare a crisis for the Frenchman, but the Spanish press is starting to get impatient.
Endrick was much more convincing than Mbappé
