Olympique de Marseille narrowly escaped defeat against Reims at the Vélodrome (2-2) this Sunday in Ligue 1. Amine Harit had opened the scoring for the Olympians in the first half, but the Marseille team saw their Champagne opponents come back into the game and then take the lead in the second half.
Fortunately for OM, their new recruit Mason Greenwood was on his feet and saved the situation by scoring the goal to make it 2-2. The English striker, who had already scored twice against Brest (1-5) on the first day, now brings his total to 3 goals in 2 games.
“An incredible feeling”
After the draw against Rémois, the former Red Devil expressed on social networks his joy at having scored at home in front of the Marseille crowd. “Such an incredible feeling to score my first goal in the Velodrome, the atmosphere was incredible! We will regroup as a team and move on to the next match.” wrote Greenwood on
Instagram.
Currently 5th in the Ligue 1 standings, Roberto De Zerbi’s men will travel to Toulouse next Saturday.
