Recruited last winter by Atlético de Madrid from Antwerp, Arthur Vermeeren (19 years old), who was presented as a very talented young Belgian midfielder, did not have adequate playing time and was not in Diego Simeone’s plans. Quickly invited to relaunch elsewhere, the Belgian had been targeted by several European clubs. Olympique de Marseille had notably positioned themselves as well as Bayer Leverkusen, but it was finally RB Leipzig who managed to convince him.
The Colchoneros have just made his loan to the Bundesliga team official: “Atletico Madrid and Leipzig have reached an agreement for the loan of Arthur Vermeeren to the German club. Atletico Madrid wishes Arthur Vermeeren good luck in this new professional challenge”it is specified. Last season, Arthur Vermeeren had only played five official matches with the Madrid club and will be able to try to get back on track.
