RC Lens got the better of Brest this Sunday in the 2nd day of L1.

A week after its initial victory in Angers (0-1), and three days after dominating Panathinaikos in the first leg of the Conference League play-off (2-1), RC Lens followed up this Sunday by getting the better of Stade Brestois (2-0), at Bollaert, for the 2e Ligue 1 lifting.

Thanks to Chavez, the Blood and Gold quickly took the lead (1-0, 19e) – SB29 then cracked just before the break to allow the locals to increase their hold on the match, on an own goal from Le Cardinal (2-0, 45e).

The only downside for Lens was Machado’s sending off at the end of the match. In the standings, the Artésiens have temporarily joined the top four, which are also made up of Paris, Lille and Monaco. Brest find themselves bottom of the table with seven goals already conceded in two games.
