In the shadow of Bayer Leverkusen, the reigning German champion, the Bavarian team wants to find the light again. An ambition that began this Sunday on the Wolfsburg pitch as part of the first day of the Bundesliga. At the Volkswagen Arena, Vincent Kompany’s men, who was inducted this summer, quickly took the lead through Jamal Musiala (0-1, 20th). Ahead at half-time, the Bavarians cracked however after the break. First on a penalty conceded by Sacha Boey and converted by Lovro Majer (1-1, 47th) before the latter scored twice (2-1, 55th).

Stunned, the Munich team managed, despite everything, to equalize. On a corner taken by Olise, very interesting for his debut, the unfortunate Jakub Kaminski sent the ball into his own net (2-2, 65th). Fragile defensively and very close to conceding a first defeat after a new attempt by Kevin Behrens (73rd), Bayern finally snatched victory in the last quarter of an hour thanks to Serge Gnabry, served by Harry Kane (2-3, 82nd). With this first success (3-2), the Rekordmeister is back in the leading pack before challenging Freiburg on the next day.
