After their victory against Wolverhampton, Arsenal travelled to Aston Villa for an attractive Premier League clash. Held together during the first half, the Gunners came close to a penalty but Ollie Watkins did not get his shot on target against Raya (26th). After the break, Arsenal were still suffering. Onana saw his shot blocked by Gabriel on the bar and Watkins then fell on Raya (55th). Under pressure, the residents of the Emirates Stadium finally found the fault through Leandro Trossard.

Following a new combination between Odegaard and Saka, the Belgian opened his foot and beat Martinez (0-1, 67th). At the end of the match, Unai Emery brought on Barkley and Maatsen but the physiognomy of this match hardly changed and Arsenal made the break. Shifted back by Saka, Partey followed up with a curled right-footed shot that Martinez could only graze (0-2, 77th). With this victory (2-0), the London team temporarily returns to third place in the championship.
