It was a day of big announcements for the French Football Federation. The FFF announced this Friday the names of the new coaches of the French women’s team and the French hopefuls team.
For the Bleues, after the departure of Hervé Renard at the end of his contract, it is his assistant Laurent Bonadéi who will take charge, with a three-year mission at stake. “We wanted to have a coach who knows the French team and women’s football, with a wealth of experience, high standards and a sense of training. It is in this spirit that we decided to entrust the selection to Laurent Bonadei, justifies Philippe Diallo, the president of the FFF. The Blues have important sporting objectives, notably Euro 2025 in Switzerland and then the 2027 World Cup.
After Henry, continuity
The situation is similar among the Espoirs. While Thierry Henry decided to leave his post suddenly, one year before the end of his contract, the torch will be taken up by his assistant Gérald Baticle, appointed until 2025. It was important to choose a coach who would continue the work carried out by Thierry Henry at the head of the Bleuets, explains Philippe Diallo. Gérald Baticle, his assistant, seemed the natural solution to take up the torch. His experience as a coach and his knowledge of French football are important assets to guide our young talents towards success. His first mission will be to qualify the Espoirs for the Euro U21 in 2025 in Slovakia.
