After a very busy year, the Racing Club of Lens returns to European competitions this Thursday evening, with a highly anticipated play-off against Panathinaikos. A meeting that will greatly determine the rest of this season for the Artois club.
“We have to try to win both matches, Will Still launched. There is a history between Lens and Panathinaikos that is favourable to us (2 wins at Bollaert, a defeat and a draw at the Olympic stadium in Athens), we will try to stay in the same vein. The Olympic stadium has been very successful for Lens in the past, we accept the draw as it was made.”
A well-oiled eleven for Lens
Which eleven will the Blood and Gold present themselves with? Will Still should rely on a usual animation, a 3-4-1-2 in which Saïd, in great form, is expected at the forefront of the attack. He should be supported by Sotoca and Pereira da Costa.
Thomasson is expected to play deeper in midfield alongside Mendy, while Frankowski and Machado should have their usual roles as pistons. Finally, the three-man defence of Gradit, Danso and Medina is holding up. Brice Samba will take his place in goal.
The expected line-up for Lens : Samba – Gradit, Danso, Medina – Frankowski, Mendy, Thomasson, Machado – Pereira da Costa – Said, Sotoca.
