Crowned French champion for the 12th time in its history, the
Paris Saint-Germain has had a great time on the national scene last season, as it also won this edition of the Coupe de France, as well as the Champions Trophy. A flattering record to which is added an epic run to the semi-final of the Champions League.
Despite these feats of arms, some observers remain frustrated by the capital club’s season, like Christophe Dugarry, who is always inclined to point out the failings of Luis Enrique’s team.
Dugarry not gentle with PSG
After being called upon to review the Paris Saint-Germain season, the 1998 world champion did not do things by halves. PSG didn’t improve throughout the season. They showed the same weaknesses from start to finish. I feel like the Champions League stinks of failure! You can’t say that this season is a great success“, thundered Dugarry on RMC.
The same goes for the other star consultant on Jérôme Rothen’s show, Jean-Michel Larqué. I still saw a team that is totally unbalanced. I saw a team that has not progressed since the first matches. It is a normal season, with a strong taste of unfinished business…“. Luis Enrique therefore has his work cut out for him to silence the sceptics this season. As a reminder, PSG got its campaign off to a good start with a big win on the pitch at Le Havre (4-1).
