OM and Norwich have reached an agreement: Jonathan Rowe is arriving on the Canebière for a loan with a mandatory purchase option.

Mason Greenwood won’t be the only Englishman at Olympique de Marseille this season! Jonathan Rowe, the Norwich winger who plays in the Championship, is arriving on the Canebière. According to insider Fabrizio Romano, an agreement has been reached between the
Canary Islands and OM, around a loan with a mandatory purchase option estimated at around 16 million euros, with bonuses and a profit on resale, the terms of which have not yet been disclosed.

Capable of playing on either wing, but also in support of a central striker, the Briton has so far never played anywhere other than at Norwich since his professional debut. Rowe, 21, is coming off a career-best season, with 12 goals and two assists, after playing three games last season due to a serious ankle injury.

Present against Reims on Sunday?

Jonathan Rowe’s ability to break through and disrupt defences is likely to fit into Roberto De Zerbi’s speed-loving system and, if his arrival is confirmed before the weekend, could be on the team sheet against Reims on Sunday at the Stade Vélodrome.

Other names are circulating around Olympique de Marseille for an arrival before the end of the transfer window. The injury of Faris Moumbagna, victim of a rupture of the cruciate ligaments against Brest, pushes the first leader of Ligue 1 to consider the recruitment of a central striker, who could be the French Neal Maupay. A loan with an option to buy is also mentioned, to allow OM to be sufficiently stocked in the offensive sector.
