What if Didier Deschamps had a surprise in store for us in midfield? More than a month after its elimination in the Euro semi-final against Spain (2-1), the French team is already close to a return to business. Next Thursday, the coach of Les Bleus will unveil his first list of the season, in view of the two Nations League matches against Italy, on September 6, and Belgium, on the 9th.

In recent days, it was rumored that a newcomer named Michael Olise was likely to discover the French team. But on the contrary, a senior player is expected to leave. As reported by the newspaper The Team This Wednesday, Adrien Rabiot should not be called up by Deschamps. Currently without a club, the former Turin player is training alone in the south-east of France but is lacking in rhythm, having failed to benefit from real preparation. A situation which then makes his call-up unlikely. With Eduardo Camavinga injured, a second place in midfield should therefore become available.
