While Paris Saint-Germain’s summer transfer window has been relatively quiet this year, the goalkeeper position has seen some upheaval. On June 14, the capital club made official the arrival of Matvey Safonov from FK Krasnodar.
The 25-year-old goalkeeper has signed with the Red and Blue until 2029. To secure his services, PSG reportedly paid around 20 million euros, including bonuses. Fresh from the Olympic champion title, the Spaniard Arnau Tenas has returned to the capital, where he should occupy third place in the hierarchy of goalkeepers.
A well-established hierarchy of guardians
Regarding the fourth place, it should be awarded to the young Moroccan U20 international Bilal Laurendon. Indeed, Lucas Lavallée has just been loaned for a season without an option to buy to FC Aubagne, promoted to National. Last season, he had already been fired at USL Dunkerque, in Ligue 2.
The PSG goalkeeper hierarchy therefore seems well established, even if Luis Enrique prefers to keep a certain mystery on this subject.
“I never say he will be number 1, 2 or 3. I want to see them in training and have them ready when I call them up.”declared the Spanish technician, at a press conference, before the Ligue 1 match against Le Havre.
