Anthony Lopes has spent his entire professional football career at OL. He is now clearly being pushed towards the exit.

Anthony Lopes most likely played his last match in the colours of Olympique Lyonnais, on the occasion of the reception of Strasbourg, for the last match of the 2023-2024 Ligue 1 season. A crazy evening during which the Rhone club snatched its qualification for the Europa League thanks to a goal scored by Alexandre Lacazette in the 96th minute.

Lucas Perri was recruited during the last winter transfer window to become the regular in goal for Lyon. And the Portuguese international is not even considered as a potential replacement for the Brazilian international. Indeed, the Gones management is considering enlisting Rémy Descamps to take care of this role according to RMC Sport.

Descamps as Perri’s understudy?

Now aged 28, Rémy Descamps was trained at Paris Saint-Germain, a club where he was the reserve goalkeeper between 2015 and 2018. For the last three seasons, he played for FC Nantes. With the Canaries, the Marcq-en-Barœul native has started 17 times in all competitions.

As for Anthony Lopes, he would like to recover the wages from his last year of contract. This is refused by his managers, who are considering placing him in the “loft” while he waits for him to find a way out. On May 19, he left the Groupama Stadium pitch in tears.
