After
AJ Auxerre’s convincing victory against Nice a little earlier in the day (2-1)several Ligue 1 teams were making their entrance on the scene in all four corners of France. And the most beautiful operation of this late afternoon is to be put to the credit of Racing Club de Lens (1-0). For Will Still’s first in official competition, the Artois club won by the smallest of margins against the promoted Angevin. Saïd’s goal shortly before the half-hour mark (1-0, 28th) was enough to make the Blood and Gold happy.
Lens is therefore placed in the first wagon, that of the teams with 3 points in this anecdotal ranking, alongside OM, PSG, Auxerre, Monaco and Lille. The second includes the teams that had to settle for a draw – the outcome of the other two matches this early evening.
A first 0-0 this season
The most lively took place on the Montpellier side, where the Hérault team held Strasbourg to a draw (1-1). Diarra had opened the scoring for the Alsatians (0-1, 58th), but Michel Der Zakarian’s men equalized a handful of minutes later thanks to the inevitable Savanier, on penalty (1-1, 67th).
Finally, Toulouse and Nantes also neutralized each other, but they did not find the opening. A scenario resulting from the excellent performances of the goalkeepers, and in particular Alban Lafont, very inspired for his return to Toulouse. The first 0-0 of the season.
