Manchester City have been linked with Rodrygo to replace Julian Alvarez, but another big club are interested.

Real Madrid have no intention of selling any of their key first-team players before the summer transfer window closes, although they could be tempted to do so if an offer too good to refuse is received. That could be the case for Rodrygo Goes, who is not guaranteed a regular starting spot in the 2024-25 season.

Manchester City have been linked with Rodrygo as a replacement for Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez, while reports in England (via MD) also indicate that the 23-year-old is being sought by Liverpool as a long-term successor to Mohamed Salah.

Rodrygo wants to stay

Both clubs have the capacity to spend big, which could attract the attention of Real Madrid.

At this point, Rodrygo has no real intention of leaving Real Madrid, although his position could change over the next 12 months if he were to be ousted from the regular starting XI by Kylian Mbappe or Arda Guler. For this summer at least, it could be very surprising if something happens.
