Already held to a draw by Sturm Graz, Paris was forced to draw again in a warm-up match. The French champions shared the honours with RB Leipzig this Saturday in Germany.
Had it not been for Gonçalo Ramos’ equaliser twenty minutes from time, Luis Enrique’s team would have even lost this match. And that would have been a blot less than a week before the start of the new Ligue 1 season.
Ramos saves the day for PSG
The Parisians conceded a goal from former Lens player Lois Openda on a corner and after a quarter of an hour of play and were unable to respond for a long time. The presence in the starting eleven of Ousmane Dembélé was not of great benefit. And the incorporations of Kolo Muani and Barcola after the break did not really have the desired effect.
On the positive side, the team’s two latest recruits, namely Joao Neves and William Pacho, were able to gain playing time. Their coach was able to see them in action, as well as the players who returned to training late, such as the various French internationals and Gianluigi Donnarumma.
PSG starts its championship next Friday with a duel against Le Havre away. It will have to show something completely different to avoid starting the exercise backwards, as was already the case last year.
