Chelsea’s interest in Wolves’ Pedro Neto has come out of nowhere, but it is reportedly at an advanced stage; according to The Athletic, the Blues would pay €60m plus €3m in potential add-ons to sign the Portuguese winger. He will join an already bloated attacking corps, but that is not stopping the west London club from looking to secure a deal for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
Enzo Maresca’s side are also close to completing a deal to sign Atletico Madrid striker Samu Omorodion. The Blues have already signed eight players during the transfer window – but while many of their arrivals have been youth ones, Osimhen is believed to be in the mix; he is 25 and is already recognised as one of the best strikers in Europe, having scored 76 goals in 133 appearances for Napoli.
Chelsea on standby
Fabrizio Romano reports that Chelsea could still be looking for attacking players after the signings of Neto and Omorodion.
Osimhen is on their wish list but the Nigerian has no intention of taking a pay cut or accepting a loan move. The Blues will only continue their drive towards a deal if Osimhen’s stance changes.
