After eliminating Argentina and then Egypt, France finds itself in the Olympic final against Spain. Thierry Henry, determined to offer a historic title to his country, shared his pride and ambitions.

The French Olympic team is preparing for a crucial meeting this Friday, during the final of the 2024 Olympic Games against Spain at the Parc des Princes. In this competition, Les Bleuets have made a great path, beating Argentina in the quarter-finals, then Egypt in the semi-finals.

Forty years after their first Olympic title at the Los Angeles Games, Thierry Henry’s men are sure to leave with a medal. But the French coach is aiming high and has a deep desire to win gold.

“I told Alexandre Lacazette…”

“I’m simply in a dream, and the outcome of the final doesn’t matter. But I’m a competitor, I want to win it. Waking up will be hard, even for you. We have a beautiful country after all, when we decide to be together, we are unstoppable,” Henry said at a press conference on Thursday.

The 98 world champion did not fail to share his enthusiasm with his captain Alexandre Lacazette. “(…) We visualize the gold. We realize what is happening, I told Alexandre Lacazette to look around him when we arrived in Paris. It’s a small feat whatever happens.”
