In search of a new centre forward, OM have set their sights on RC Lens striker Elye Wahi. Discussions have indeed started between the two parties, but their respective positions remain quite far apart.
Marseille came out with an offer of 20 million euros, excluding bonuses, at the beginning of the week. An interesting sum that did not sway the Artois management. They are asking for much more for their number 1 striker.
Lens will not sell off Elye Wahi
According to information from RMC Sport, RC Lens does not intend to lose money on a player recruited last summer for a sum of 30 million euros (from Montpellier). So, there is no question of selling him for less than that. For OM, this is too high a threshold, especially since it would be getting closer to its record in terms of transfers (32M€ for Vitinha).
Wahi is not the only striker that Marseille are eyeing at the moment. The Phocéens have also inquired about German international Youssoufa Moukoko (Borussia Dortmund), while the Eddie Nketiah (Arsenal) file is progressing very slowly.
