Canal+ will have a charismatic consultant from next fall.

Canal+ no longer has the rights to Ligue 1. But that doesn’t mean the encrypted channel has abandoned football. Quite the opposite. It now holds the exclusive rights to the various European cups and it intends to cover its competitions in the best possible way.

With this in mind, the channel’s managers have called on a new face. They hired the very controversial Bertrand Latour. The latter had become known in recent years on the L’Equipe channel, working as a journalist, consultant and columnist. With his frankness and his incessant provocations with the microphone in hand, he could fill the void left by Pierre Ménès since his dismissal three years ago.

Canal+ does not skimp on its resources

Aged 31, Latour will therefore be able to broaden his horizons. Working at Canal+ is the pinnacle for any sports journalist and he will therefore be able to enjoy this privilege, if we are to believe information from L’Equipe. The source does not specify whether he intends to split his time by keeping his position with his former employer.

Before betting on Latour, Canal+ had already succeeded in recruiting the excellent Margot Dumont from BeIn Sports. The boss Maxime Saada is therefore doing everything to maintain the attractive side of his football offer, failing to be able to offer the games of the French championship.
