As reported The Mirror This Monday, Lionel Messi was the target of an attack by a group of activists. According to the British media, environmental activists from the Futuro Vegetal collective burglarized and vandalized the Ibiza home of the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner.

In a photo published on social networks, the two individuals can be seen brandishing a banner on which the phrase appears: “Help the planet, eat the rich, abolish the police”.
“Illegal construction”
The acts were also claimed by Futuro Vegetal on
Xformerly Twitter. “We have tinted Messi’s illegal mansion in Ibiza. It is an illegal construction that the footballer acquired for the exorbitant sum of 11 million euros. Meanwhile, in the Balearic Islands alone, between 2 and 4 people have died as a direct result of the heatwave,” can we read.
“The richest 1% of the population are responsible for the same amount of carbon emissions as the poorest two-thirds. This is only possible because governments support an economic and social system that threatens life.”
“While the far right blames migrants for the crisis and uses extreme violence against them, those of us fighting for a better world are convinced that the problem lies in social inequality. We must tackle the problems at the root. We need a radical system change to address the climate crisis.”
