Olympique de Marseille have made official the arrival of Canadian defender Derek Cornelius, who arrives from Malmö.

And five for Olympique de Marseille! After Lilian Brassier, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Ismael Koné and Mason Greenwood, a fifth recruit arrives at the Phocéens. This is the Canadian defender Derek Cornelius (26 years old), who played in Sweden, on the side of Malmö.

In its press release, OM highlights “his qualities of power, speed and his ease in aerial duels”. “A player with a great sense of anticipation, Derek Cornelius has 26 caps with Canada and is part of the group called up to play in the 2022 World Cup. Last month, he participated in the 2024 Copa América alongside his compatriot Ismaël Koné with whom he reached the last four of the competition”adds the Olympian club, which could follow with the arrivals of Valentin Carboni or Youssoufa Moukoko.
