Jordan Amavi’s future will continue to be written in Brittany. Free after the termination of his last year of contract with Olympique de Marseille, by mutual agreement, the French left-back has definitively committed to Brest.
Amavi has signed a one-season contract, until June 2025, with an additional year as an option. He will therefore continue his adventure with the Ty’ Zefs, which began last season as part of a loan. The Toulon native, who arrived on the Canebière in 2017, sent a beautiful farewell message to Marseille supporters.
Memories full in my head
“Dear OM supporters, the time has come for me to say goodbye and take a new path in my career. Since my arrival in 2017, I have understood what it means to wear these colours. You understand everything once you have this jersey on your back. And since that day, I have fallen in love with this stadium, this club and its supporters. We have shared unforgettable moments. Like this Europa League final in 2018. There have also been slightly more difficult periods, marked by injuries. But I have always fought to come back stronger and prove my worth on the pitch,” can we read on Instagram.
“Not everything has always gone as planned, but I don’t regret anything about my time here. I take with me precious memories and immense gratitude to you, the fans who supported me with your passion and gave me the strength to continue fighting even in the most difficult moments. I wish you to continue to vibrate for our team, to see OM win titles and regain its rightful place at the top of French football. You deserve the best and I am sure that beautiful days await us all. Thank you for everything. See you soon! Jordan”he concluded.
Amavi will however be reunited with his former team on the first day of Ligue 1 on August 17.
