Even before the season began, Paris SG recorded the defection of one of its major players.

Two weeks before the start of the new Ligue 1 season, PSG has received some bad news. One of its leaders has been forced to return to the infirmary for an indefinite period.

The player in question is Presnel Kimpembe. While he had just returned from an injury, the French international contracted a new physical problem. Its nature has not been communicated. What we do know, however, is that he has not trained for several days and that there is no date set for his return to competition.

PSG forced to adapt

Kimpembe has not appeared on the pitch since February 26, 2023 due to a ruptured Achilles tendon. He has therefore been out of action for 523 days. A very long absence, but one that did not prevent his club from signing him to a new contract until 2026 last December. A great show of support.

If his defection were to drag on, it is not certain that Paris would keep this player for much longer. Especially since Kimpembe earns 640,000 euros/month. There is also a need to strengthen at the back, even if with Marquinhos, Skriniar, Beraldo and Danilo Pereira the French champions are well-equipped in this sector.
