Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus is hoping to return to his best form this season and his manager Mikel Arteta is confident he can do so.
The Brazilian has had a bumpy campaign, marked by injuries, which meant he played little part in the conquest of second place in the Premier League. Currently, he is in top form during pre-season, unlike last year when he felt the first signs of a knee problem.
Arteta congratulates Gabriel Jesus
“He looks very good, he looks very sharp”Arteta told reporters. “He changed a lot of things over the summer and he came back in great shape.”
“When you have that base, other things can be built, but without that base we don’t have a player and he needs to be in that condition to give his best, continued the Spanish coach. He understood it and I am very happy with what he showed today again. You can see in his look, in his way of moving and in his eyes that there is a spark.”
Arsenal start their new season with a home duel against Wolverhampton, scheduled for August 17. Between now and then, the Londoners will face OL in the Emirates Cup.
