The arrival of Aïssa Mandi at LOSC is more imminent than ever. In search of a defensive reinforcement following the departure of Leny Yoro to Manchester United, Lille should enlist the Algerian defender in the coming hours. A new step was even taken this Thursday as the 32-year-old terminated his contract with Villarreal, a club with which he has appeared 79 times (3 goals) since his arrival from Real Betis in 2021.
“Official statement: Villarreal and Mandi have reached an agreement to terminate the contract of the central defender, who is parting ways with the yellow entity. The club appreciates his professionalism during his three seasons at Villarreal and wishes him good luck for the future“, we can read in an official press release from the Spanish club. Having spent time at Stade de Reims between 2009 and 2016, Aïssa Mandi is therefore preparing to return to the French championship.
