PSG and Benfica Lisbon have agreed on the transfer of Portuguese prodigy Joao Neves.

Joao Neves to PSG, it’s done. After long negotiations, the French champion club and Benfica Lisbon have agreed on the transfer of the Portuguese international. This is what the media L’Equipe reveals.

Neves arrives in France for a fee of 70 million euros (bonuses included). A huge sum for a player of his age (19 years old). Paris also had to resolve to let Renato Sanches go in the opposite direction.

PSG paid a high price for Joao Neves

Neves will thus become Paris’ first major recruit this summer, but probably not the last. Other stars are expected to arrive at the Parc des Princes, such as the Spaniard Nico Williams (Athletic Bilbao).

Joao Neves will join the French champions, where he will find several of his compatriots like Danilo Pereira, Gonçalo Ramos or Vitinha. He will be able to count on this trio to facilitate his adaptation, even if the price of his transfer will probably weigh heavily on his shoulders.

Joao Neves is considered one of the most promising footballers in Portugal. This midfielder was also in Manchester United’s sights. However, and especially considering his young age, we will certainly have to wait before judging and deciding whether the big investment made was worth it or not for the Parisians.
