Catalan coach Pep Guardiola has expressed concerns over the progress of Barcelona prodigy Lamine Yamal.

Pep Guardiola is the coach of Manchester City, but that doesn’t stop him from liking players from other teams. For example, he admitted that he is a fan of Lamine Yamal, the child prodigy of FC Barcelona.

Guardiola says he was impressed by Yamal during Spain’s winning run at the last Euro.

Guardiola announces Lamine Yamal’s slowdown

“When Rodri came back from his vacation, I asked him about Yamal and he told me wonderful things, began by declaring Guardiola. You can see that if you play regularly for Barca at this age and then go to the national team, it’s because you have something special.”

“When Xavi brought him in, it was because he saw something different in him than the others,” the Sky Blues manager continued. “There are kids who are ahead of the curve.”

Guardiola concluded by expressing a wish regarding the continuation of Lamine Yamal’s career: “I hope we don’t get tired of him when he’s 25. That’s the kind of thing that happens. Expectations are very high. There will be a drop in performance, but we have to stay calm. His potential is spectacular. He’s playing very well, he’s determined.”
