Arsenal won (2-1) against Manchester United, for their second match of their American tour. After being led 0-1 from the 10th minute, following a goal from Rasmus Hojlund, the Gunners finally regained control of the match before winning. On the London side, the two scorers were Gabriel Jesus (26th) and Gabriel Martinelli (81st). In a nearly full SoFi Stadium, Mikel Arteta’s men defeated the Red Devils, who have already lost their second match after only three preparation games. More bad news for the Mancunians, Leny Yoro, one of the big signings of this summer, was injured during the match and went off, injured. The nature of the Frenchman’s injury is not yet known but it is a big loss for Manchester United, who paid a little over 60 million euros for him.
Still no victory for Manchester City at the start of the pre-season. In the legendary Yankee Stadium in New York, the Citizens lost again at the end of a crazy match (2-3) against AC Milan. It was the young Milanese Marco Nasri who scored the decisive goal (78th) to give his team the victory. Pep Guardiola and his players will meet Barça again next Wednesday for the next pre-season match on the schedule for Manchester City.
