Manchester City have reportedly found the ideal successor for Kevin De Bruyne when he leaves the club.

De Bruyne has been heavily linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League this summer, with his contract with Manchester City ending in the summer of 2025. While the eight-time Premier League champions are unwilling to let the Belgian maestro leave, they have prepared for life after his departure.

Manchester City are considering Bayern Munich wonderkid Jamal Musiala as De Bruyne’s successor when the playmaker leaves the Etihad, according to Christian Falk. The 21-year-old has been sensational since making his debut for Der Rekordmeister in 2020 and is seen as the perfect replacement to fill a De Bruyne-sized void in Pep Guardiola’s squad.

Musiala targeted by City

The German star was in contract talks with Bayern Munich last season but negotiations stalled in the summer. Manchester City have the financial means to strike a deal.

The Premier League champions have the first choice of keeping De Bruyne at the club, but they are not prepared to hand him a lengthy contract extension and will not be an obstacle if the Belgian wants to leave the club.
