Germany’s epic run at Euro 2024, orchestrated by the talented Julian Nagelsmann, ended in the quarter-finals, leaving a bitter taste in the mouths of fans. A promising run that had fueled the hopes of German fans to see their nation win a fourth European title.

Despite this failure, the German technician remains highly regarded and continues to inspire many players in German football, including Eugen Polanski. A former Polish international who played under Nagelsmann at Hoffenheim, he has currently been manager of Borussia Mönchengladbach since July 2022. He recently confided that it was thanks to the former Bayern Munich coach that he decided to retrain as a coach.

“One of the best coaches in Germany”

“In the last two and a half years at Hoffenheim I had the great fortune to work with probably one of the best coaches in Germany. He bugged me for a year and a half and told me to get coaching licenses”he revealed in the FohlenPodcast.

Polanski, under contract with the Fohlen until June 2026, is determined to succeed in his transition. “I’m trying to make this transition from former player to good coach “, he added.

At the helm of Mönchengladbach, the 38-year-old coach has managed 68 matches, winning 30, drawing 18 and losing 20.
