Matvey Safonov will not remain PSG’s only summer recruit for much longer in 2024. The Russian goalkeeper, who made his debut in Parisian training, will soon be joined by the first big move on the transfer window. Indeed, according to our information, PSG is preparing the arrival of João Neves for next week, with the usual medical examination and then the signing of the contract.

The capital club is currently putting the process in place for the player’s arrival in Paris at the beginning of the week. Proof that the transfer is now imminent, even if at the time of writing, the deal is not yet completely closed with Benfica. Sports advisor Luis Campos is in any case particularly optimistic.

PSG is waiting for him with bated breath

A 5-year contract awaits him in the French capital as well as an annual salary of 5 million euros. Negotiations between Benfica and Paris Saint-Germain should be concluded soon, at a price that is still unknown. And PSG could thus welcome a new nugget of European football.

João Neves, 19, has had a brilliant season with Benfica, where he has established himself as a regular in midfield, in a double pivot with Kökçü. With excellent technique, he protects the ball particularly well, knows how to play under pressure and makes an impact despite his height of 1.74 metres.
