PSG has its first big move!

In search of reinforcements in midfield, PSG are very close to an agreement with Benfica concerning Joao Neves.

The days go by and PSG has still only recorded one single arrival since the opening of the transfer window. Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov remains for the moment the only summer recruit in the Parisian ranks. Luis Campos and his teams have nevertheless been multiplying the leads for several weeks, particularly in midfield where two players have been made a priority: Joshua Kimmich and Joao Neves.

And according to the Portuguese press, the French champions are getting close to their goal regarding the Benfica midfielder. The Portuguese international made his big return to Lisbon after three weeks of vacation following the Seleçao’s elimination against Les Bleus and was present in the stands of the Luz Stadium to watch his team’s friendly match against Brentford.

The €70 million offer was accepted

Expected at training this Friday, Joao Neves could take the opportunity to announce his desire to join PSG this summer. Whether to his teammates or to the supporters, the young player wants to explain his decision to leave Benfica. His departure therefore seems to be a done deal and the two clubs would indeed be very close to reaching an agreement.

PSG has so far offered around 70 million euros, including 10 million in bonuses, and the offer has reportedly been accepted by the Lisbon club. Only a few details remain to be settled and Nasser Al-Khelaïfi is said to have played a key role in these discussions.
