In search of a new goalkeeper, Olympique de Marseille will not recruit Filip Jorgensen, who is about to sign for Chelsea.

Olympique de Marseille are making slow progress in their recruitment, having already acquired four potential starters, Lilian Brassier, Ismael Koné, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Mason Greenwood. But while waiting for other arrivals in defense or attack, the Phocéens are still on standby in the goalkeeper saga.

This position is very important in the eyes of the new coach Roberto De Zerbi, who makes the goalkeeper the basis of the construction of his game. The Italian coach would like a goalkeeper who sticks to his ideas, and this is what could push Pau Lopez towards the exit, for example from Como, the ambitious Italian promoted team.

Jorgensen to sign for Chelsea

The OM leaders therefore have the mission of recruiting a goalkeeper who will please Roberto De Zerbi. And a priori, the lucky chosen one will not be Filip Jorgensen. The Dane from Villarreal should indeed fly to Chelsea. The transfer is about to be concluded, according to Fabrizio Romano. The Blues already have six goalkeepers under contract, including several potential starters (Sanchez, Petrovic, Kepa…), but they will pay around 20 million euros to add Jorgensen to their squad.

For Pablo Longoria and OM, this is a case to be closed. The Phocéens will have to activate other leads to find their future last bastion.
